With the holiday season fast approaching (where's summer gone ??), I have a lot of handmade gift projects on my to-do list. And these chocolate covered spoons bind to two of my favorite things - coffee and chocolate!
Gift recipients can use them to stir their coffee; the chocolate melts and adds a little delicious chocolate quality to their drink!
I just used plastic spoons we already had, but I also saw them made with antique type silver spoons, which is really cute. I also had chocolate chips and sprinkles from other recipes, so this project cost almost nothing to do.

Supplies
- spoons
- chocolate chips
- sprinkles
- wax paper
- small bowl
- plastic sandwich bags
- ribbon
Preparations
- Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second increments until smooth. Dip the spoon in the chocolate, place it on a piece of waxed paper and add glitter. Refrigerate until chocolate has hardened.
- With all the fun sprinkled, you can customize them for any party or celebration. The crushed candy canes would also be delicious and very festive!
- Chocolate coated spoons To make the packaging, I just cut the zipper part of a plastic sandwich bag, I tucked the spoon in a corner and tied on a ribbon. Target has a lot of super cute holiday ribbon in its spot right now.
- These chocolate covered spoons would be the perfect little addition to a Starbucks gift card or coffee mug gift!
- Since they are so simple and quick to make, chocolate covered spoons are ideal for a last minute gift that you may need to prepare for a neighbor or friend you meet for lunch during the holidays.
