Growing up, my mother always made these delicious magic cookie bars during the holidays. Just by looking at them, I thought that a lot of work had been done to make them. When I was old enough to start helping, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy they are to do.
I have so many great memories of sitting on the kitchen island while my mom was baking all kinds of cookies and bars for Christmas. But my favorites are definitely these magic cookie bars. With all the different flavors fusing, they are truly magical!

Now that my little guy is old enough to "help" me cook, I'm still looking for simple recipes that we can make together. After a few messy incidents involving flour, these magic cookie bars were a popular and easy-to-clean recipe to try with him. Her favorite part of any recipe is the mix and although this recipe really doesn't require any mixing, I usually give her a bowl full of chocolate chips and caramel chips to mix. This helps keep him occupied while I work on making the Graham crust for the first layer.
Ingredients
- 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup melted butter
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup of Christmas M&M
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup Scottish caramel chips (optional)
- 1⅓ cup coconut flakes
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 ° F
- Grease a 13 × 9 pan with non-stick cooking spray
- Mix the Graham biscuits and the butter, press the mixture firmly at the bottom of the pan
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the Graham cracker mixture
- Using the rest of the ingredients, layer evenly, pressing firmly on each layer
- Cook 20-25 minutes until slightly brown
