Easy Caprese Pasta Salad [Summer Salad]

Easy Caprese Pasta Salad [Summer Salad]

Easy Caprese Pasta Salad, a classic summer salad with a twist.
This Italian pasta salad with mozzarella and Caprese tomato is a variation of the classic Caprese salad, which is one of my favorite salads!

Ingredients

  • 7 ounces penne pasta
  • 7 ounces of cocktail tomatoes
  • Fresh Buffalo Mozzarella Ball 7 oz
  • 12 basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 1/2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook your penne pasta according to the directions on the package. Once cooked al dente (to the bite) let cool. You can keep the pasta in your refrigerator to cool it.
  2. Cut your cocktail tomatoes in half and place them in a salad bowl
  3. If you use a large ball of mozzarella, cut it into small pieces (the size of cocktail tomatoes cut in half) or if you use small balls of mozzarella, let them be as is. Add the mozzarella to the tomatoes.
  4. Cut your clean, fresh basil leaves into small strips. Add to the tomato and mozzarella.
  5. Now add your cooked and cooled pasta in the bowl with the other ingredients.
  6. Add salt and black pepper and pour the olive oil over the salad.
  7. Mix the salad well with all the ingredients. Do not mix too much or the ingredients will become pasty.
  8. Enjoy it as a delicious summer salad.

Remarks

The rule of thumb is to use quality ingredients to bring out the flavors of this caprese pasta salad. This is how this dish is a winner with a minimum of ingredients!
For extra virgin olive oil, try to get cold pressed organic Kalamata olive oil.
