Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies

Red velvet brownies topped with a swirl of cheesecake, this decadent treat is perfect for serving delicious Valentine's Day dessert!

Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring (liquid or gel)
  • ¾ teaspoon of white vinegar
  • ¾ cup of all-purpose flour
  • Cheesecake filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 ° F.
  2. Beat the two eggs together in a small bowl, set aside.
  3. To melt the butter.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the butter with the sugar, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, salt, food coloring and vinegar.
  5. Whisk eggs.
  6. Add the flour, mix well but do not mix too much.
  7. Spray an 8 "x8" pan with a non-stick spray. Pour the batter into the pan, leaving a little more in the bowl.
  8. Combine cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla in a bowl using a hand mixer on medium speed.
  9. Mix for about 1 minute until smooth.
  10. Spoon the spoonfuls of the cheesecake over the top of the brownie batter in the pan.
  11. Pour additional brownie batter over the two layers.
  12. Using a butter knife, start at the top of the pan and pass the dough and cheesecake from side to side of the pan. Once you have descended from side to side, change direction and go up and down.
  13. Bake for 28 to 30 minutes. They are performed when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  14. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
