Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • green food coloring
  • red heart-shaped sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract to the bowl and beat until combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Add a few drops of green food coloring to the dough and mix until the desired color is achieved.
  7. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a spoon.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are just set.
  10. Remove from the oven and immediately press a red heart-shaped sprinkle into the center of each cookie.
  11. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
