Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- green food coloring
- red heart-shaped sprinkles
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract to the bowl and beat until combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Add a few drops of green food coloring to the dough and mix until the desired color is achieved.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a spoon.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are just set.
- Remove from the oven and immediately press a red heart-shaped sprinkle into the center of each cookie.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
