This easy slow cooker beef stew is the perfect comfort food for a cozy night in.
This beef stew is absolutely delicious and so easy to make! The meat comes out so tender and flavorful, and the vegetables are perfectly cooked. The broth has just the right amount of richness and the addition of red wine and Worcestershire sauce give it a lovely depth of flavor. The best part is that it's all made in the slow cooker, so you can set it and forget it until it's time to eat.

Ingredients:
- 2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 lb baby potatoes, halved
- 4 carrots, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the beef stew meat and toss to coat.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef stew meat and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.
- Transfer the beef stew meat to the slow cooker. Add the onion, garlic, beef broth, red wine, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and bay leaves. Stir to combine.
- Add the baby potatoes, carrots, and celery to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours, or until the meat is tender and the vegetables are cooked through.
- Remove the bay leaves and discard. Serve the beef stew hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired. Enjoy!
